Israeli scientists are training mice to detect would-be bombers and drug mules at airports. The rodents, which work four-hour shifts, are more accurate than drug-sniffing dogs and x-ray machines. They are placed into a special detection machine and run to a side chamber where they trigger an alarm if they sense drugs. The device was tested last year on 1,000 shoppers in a Tel Aviv shopping mall. The mice successfully picked out 22 people carrying mock explosives.
