The Albertville, Alabama police recently arrested Jackie Denise Knott for allowing her 13-year-old daughter to ride in a cardboard box atop her van. Commuters called the police after seeing the teen hanging on for dear life. Sgt. Jamie Smith says Knott told him "the box was too big to go inside the van, and she would be able to hold it down if she was inside the box." Knott had the box secured to the van with a clothes hanger.
Christopher Leonard was arrested on Friday for shooting his neighbor in the stomach. The 38 year-old and John Rota got into a fight over the disposal of some leaves. He plead not guilty to armed assault with intent to murder
Elisabeth M. Weiss was arrested yesterday for failing to return some movies she rented in 1998. The 30 year-old Iowa City native rented the tapes from the now-closed Hagens Video Store. When the police contacted her on September 3, 1998 she told them she would return the tapes the next day. Weiss never did and was busted yesterday for theft and the total value of the movies and late fees, which is $231.97.
